My name is Sydney Smith and I couldn't be more excited to be in the recruiting process! Some of my goals for college gymnastics is to really connect with the team I am on and work with them to be the best we can be. Communication is key but also hard work and determination play a big part in my gymnastics. I am personally motivated and disciplined to get my work done and support not only myself but others around me. Something I am really proud of in my career is coming back from one ankle surgery, and a rebreak of the same ankle a few months after recovery. It was a long, hard process but with the support of my teammates, coaches, and family, I was able to make it back not only to the place I was before, but better! I know that I can come back from whatever knocks me down. One thing that I think really makes me stand out from others is my time management. Right now, I am working 2 jobs, have gymnastics practice, and go to school. I have straight A's, I work really hard for the positions at my jobs, and I always get things done on time. I love and support others around me and plan to continue this into college and future life!
