Hi, I am Lani Storm (Lay-nee)
I am a sophomore in high school and I am a level 9 gymnast in Wisconsin. I train gymnastics 4 hours a day, 5 times a week, year round, along with track and field in the spring. Although I am a level 9 gymnast, I still do train my level 10 skills at practice. I am planning on having at least 2 years in level 10 prior to college. I am very into my academics and grades. I have a 3.97 unweighted GPA (4.0 weighted GPA) and I am currently in 3 "above grade level" classes such as chemistry, Algebra 2, and pre-AP English 2. I am working to complete AP-biology, AP-lang, AP-psych and pre-calculus during my junior year of high school. I am very involved with my community and clubs for school. Volunteering and helping out with my community have always been something that me and my mom do together. Some skills I have are my great work ethics, determination, and being able to learn from my mistakes. I am also very strong in my communication skills, problem solving, and I am very good with working individually as well as with others. I try to take a "fail" or "mistake" and change my perspective on it. Instead of a "mistake", I think of it as a learning curve and a "fail" is a moment to laugh about. As an athlete, I have to understand that I will not be perfect but I CAN be positive and I CAN improve. I think it's wise for ALL athletes to have the ability to switch their mindset. The ability to do this can change your whole performance, I know it has changed mine. During my time in college I hope to get my medical degree and I would like to be a NICU Nurse. I take a class called Health careers 1 and I am hoping to take Heath careers 2. I was also accepted into the Heath Careers Academy. By doing this academy, I can learn more about the medical field and have amazing opportunities to job shadow all kinds of careers. To bring it back to my home life away from school, I have 3 very loving dogs and I really value my family time as much as possible. I love traveling with my family and I have been to 42 States across the nation. I love my grandparents very much and I try to see them as much as I can. I am very spiritual and family oriented!
