From the first day I stepped into a gymnastics center at 4 years old, my passion and drive to continue growing in this sport has always been present. I've always set high expectations and goals for myself, even if they seemed to be intangible at the time. I strive to work my hardest at every practice, to embrace the inevitable struggles every athlete will face, and to find growth within each learning curve I overcome. I love working with other teammates and various coaches, as it allows me to create life long connections and learn from the other athletes around me. I constantly welcome guidance and instruction from any coaches I work with, including multiple camps I attend in the summer. The courage, drive, and perseverance I've learned through this sport will continue to be a constant within my life, even outside of the gym. I hope to continue learning through this sport in a college setting as I also continue an academic career for my future.
From the first day I stepped into a gymnastics center at 4 years old, this sport has continuously captivated my attention. The passion and love I feel for the sport is incomparable to any other interest or activity I have tried. As a young girl beginning her first competition season at 8 years old, I've always set high expectations and goals for myself. Even if I saw these goals as abstract or intangible, I still worked to give everything I could. No matter the outcome, failure or success, I found that within the struggle my gymnastics and my mentality would naturally flourish. I became a better gymnast through each failure, because it was never about the destination but rather the journey to get there.
I continue to use this mentality within every aspect of the gym, especially when thinking about continuing my athletic career as a college gymnast. I strive to work my hardest at every practice, to embrace the inevitable struggles every athlete will face, and to find growth within each learning curve I overcome. The courage, drive, and perseverance I've learned through this sport will continue to be a constant within my life, even outside of the gym. I hope to continue learning through this sport in a college setting as I also continue an academic career for my future.
