Entering Junior High School at 4ft 6in and less than 60 pounds, I was in the 1th percentile in both height and weight. On top of being the smallest and lightest in my grade, I also played with kids a grade older due to birth year rules. In order to play at the same level as the other kids, I had to learn skills and IQ, as well as quickness that many kids did not have to learn based on their height and weight. In the last couple years I have started to get taller and stronger and the gap between strength and speed has not just closed but now those are strengths of mine as well. I am starting to see how being smaller early on has made a huge impact and how all the skills, IQ, and quickness I have learned to help me succeed when I was younger, pay off and help me stand out from other athletes now that I'm older. What started out as a disadvantage for me has now shown to be why I am the player I am today. I wouldn't have wanted it to be any other way. For soccer, in this past year I led my team in goals, averaging more than one goal per game as a forward, and I have been identified for ODP regional ID camps and made my National elite club team. On my national elite team I was identified as one of top three players in the opening National Tournament match by Spain professional soccer player as well as invited to play for a Spain academy. For hockey I led my team in goals and assists and I am competing in Tier 1 events. I was also invited to tryout and made a Tier I team this summer. I believe my best years are yet to come as I further mature physically and as a player. I am passionate about the sports that I play and always give my all in whatever I am doing. I have outstanding edge work, never give up when things get hard and because I love hockey as much as when I began, I am very coachable, improve quickly and always have fun.
