I'm Kyla Gewalt and I am dedicated athlete with over 12 years of hockey experience, I have developed a profound passion for the sport that goes beyond mere competition. Currently, I play AAA hockey with Team Illinois, where I have honed my skills and embraced the challenges that come with being a part of a high-level program. I still remember my first time on the ice, I was captivated by the exhilaration of the game. Throughout the years, hockey has taught me so many valuable lessons in teamwork, discipline, and perseverance. It has brought some of the biggest challenges into my life, but it also has brought some of my happiest moments in my life. Playing at the AAA level has pushed me to elevate my performance and has reinforced my commitment to continuous improvement. I thrive on the adrenaline of competition and successes, but what truly drives me is the family and community shared with my teammates and the collective pursuit of excellence. I've been training rigorously, I have focused on refining my technical skills, enhancing my hockey IQ, and improving my physical fitness everyday. The support and mentorship from my coaches at Team Illinois have been a huge role in my development as both a player and a leader. I have learned to adapt quickly to different game situations and maintain a positive mindset, regardless of the outcome. Looking ahead, I am eager to take my skills and experiences to the next level.
