School has always come natural for me, on the other hand these past years haven't been the easiest in terms of hockey, but one thing has stayed constant; my love for the game. One game that stood out to me this year was during high school season, I was on my way to a game and I stop at Starbucks - as one does - to get a pumpkin loaf and a breakfast sandwich. It was pretty dark out and I was eating my pumpkin loaf I realized that it is, in fact, not a pumpkin loaf. It turns out the people working the night shift at Starbucks aren't the most competent and she gave me a banana walnut loaf. Fun fact: I am deathly allergic to tree nuts. So, we head to the nearest hospital, use my epi-pen, and take benadryll. This took nearly an hour so I could still make the game within the first or second period. So I did. After a severe anaphylactic reaction I still went to my high school hockey game and tallied 2 assists. If that doesn't sum up my dedication I don't know what will.
For the past 2 years my hard work finally started to show up in games. I went from a defensive center, to leading my club team in points. From being cut from my club team, to a 2 year NIHL all-star. From being quiet during games and practice, to being voted as an alternate-captain on both club and high school team. From being scared to shoot in a game, to scoring a hat trick.
In college I would love to continue playing hockey at a competitive level.
