Sahara Mckay '22 Recruiting Profile

My name is Sahara Mckay, I am currently a sixteen-year-old high school junior from New Brunswick, Canada. I am currently a starter on the women's varsity ice hockey team at Hebron Academy. I aspire to play ice hockey at the highly competitive collegiate level. I am a hard-working individual on and off the ice, I have a very strong work ethic and refuse to give up. I am a team player and leader on the ice, I love setting up plays and blocking shots just as much as scoring my own goals. I would consider my skating to be one of my greatest on-ice assets being a quick and smooth skater, another of my on-ice assets being my hockey sense and the way I see and read the ice. I am a very versatile player, playing both defense and forward, originally a defenceman but began to play forward four years ago as well and love both, I will be happy to play at whichever position the coach asks me to. When I am not on the ice I love being in the weight room improving my strength or studying to keep my grades as high as I can while learning new things. I constantly look to improve and better myself at everything I do and never quit or give up on my dreams.
