Hello, Bonjour, and 你好 ! My name is Ivorie Arguin. I am a 2024 Center who plays for D1 Pope Francis Preparatory Academy.
I transferred to Pope's hockey team at the start of my Sophomore year where my strong work ethic landed me a regular spot on their Varsity 1st and 2nd lines, by mid season I was the lead points scorer. Last spring I was invited to be part of the first official Western Mass Vipers girls team that participates in the Premier Hockey League of New England. I am a multisport athlete who plays varsity soccer for Amherst High School. Going into my senior year, I will be captain of both my schools soccer and hockey team.
I am a dual citizen, US/Canadian, which definitely contributes to my passion for the sport. At the age of 2, I was on our back pond on double blades. My father placed me in learn to figure skate at age 4, I said "No, I want to do that!" (pointing to the hockey lessons which started after mine). I grew up playing hockey through the Amherst youth hockey association, co-ed, from the age of four through second year Bantam. I managed the difficulty of being one of the only girls playing through Bantam Years. During this time, I also had the privilege of being on the first ever Amherst girls hockey team, in part coached by Greg Carvel.
I was awarded the Bruce Collins Award that recognizes team leadership and positive attitude.
I am fluent in Mandarin Chinese. From k-9th grade I attended the Chinese Immersion Charter school, then transferred to Amherst High School where I continued my studies in all honors and AP courses. I am a high honors student and a member of the National Honors Society. My studies of interest are still undecided but I’m leaning toward International Business or Marketing. I also have a knack for writing poetry and have completed my first Novel.
I am looking for a school that is strong in Academics and plays competitive hockey!
Sincerely,
Ivorie Arguin
