Growing up in Roseau, Minnesota, hockey is not only a passion for me, but also for everyone in town. Being part of the hockey culture in our small town has given me a great respect for those who play, coach and officiate the game. I began skating at 2 years old and hockey at 5 years old. When I was 9, I realized my true passion was being in the net. As part of my youth teams, I participated in the Minnesota State Tournament for 5 years, 3 years at the 12U level and 2 years at the 14U level. My biggest achievements at these tournaments were posting a shut out in the semi finals and then finishing as state runner up my first year at 14U. My first high school year also brought my team to the Minnesota High School State Tournament. My goal is to help my team make it to the state tournament again this year. I also play tennis and softball on my high school teams. Outside of sports, I am very involved in 4H in my county. I hold an officer position in my club and am involved in leadership council. I participate in many community events. I am active in my church youth group and mentoring to younger children in the church. I am in my fourth year working as a hockey official during the season. I feel I am a well rounded person and an excellent student. I am excited to find the perfect collegiate match for myself and look forward to working with a coach that will help me take my game to the next level.
