Morgan Hallett '25 Recruiting Profile

Hi! My name is Morgan and my collegiate goals are to be a successful student and a hardworking, ever improving athlete. I am planning on pursuing a degree in Animal Science, Zoology, or Marine Science. 

Academically, I am a very diligent worker who will not be satisfied with anything less than what I know I am capable of. This striving to succeed and do my absolute best entirely transfers over to my participation in sports. I am a competitive person but not to the point where it inhibits my relationships with teammates, and I would say I am mostly competitive with myself: always wanting to understand my mistakes and improve upon them to benefit the team. 

Generally I am a quiet, hard working person, but I am endlessly supportive and won’t ever hesitate to cheer on fellow teammates in practice and game settings. I love the connection you feel when you get close with your teammates. You go through the toughest losses and greatest wins all together no matter what. 

I started playing hockey my freshman year of high school with previous skating experience as a figure skater for 3 years when I was younger. With a solid base of skating skills, surface level knowledge of the game, and complete dedication to hockey, I was able to continuously improve throughout my high school career. I feel as though I have an edge on other competitors as I have extensively played as both a forward and defense. This experience allowed me to better understand both sides of the game and how players  must utilize every single one of their teammates on the ice with them. 

Although I haven’t played hockey for the longest time, I have lots of exposure to team and competitive environments. I am used to the pressure and stress that comes with competing and the high stake situations that no doubt arise in every hockey game. Through this extensive experience across multiple sports, I have learned how to handle these situations and continue to think clearly and make the most strategic decisions in a short amount of time. 

Away from the rink, I really enjoy the outdoors, going to the beach, kayaking, but I also really enjoy painting and of course being with the people, and pets, that I love.
