My name is Maddie Marzec and I'm looking to play D3 or club hockey in college. As a hockey player, I've had a versatile experience from competing in Canada for an all girl's travel team, playing bantam level boy's hockey, and shifting back to girl's travel hockey locally. From my time playing bantam hockey, I learned how to be a more aggressive player than my opponents and have greatly improved my hockey IQ. I've been to numerous local clinics and camps to develop my skills in the off-season. In addition to this experience, I've been on my high school varsity hockey team since 7th grade, a competitive team with numerous accolades that is compiled of four schools, Kenmore-Grand Island-Lockport. On this team, I have been a captain and have made second team all-federation two years in a row.
As an athlete, I cross-train by swimming in the fall season and I play lacrosse in the spring season. I have a strong drive to be active, I weightlift several times a week and often choose to swim, bike, or hike in my free time. I work as a lifeguard and swim lesson instructor which keeps me actively swimming and moving in the off season as well.
As a student, I excel in the classroom. I've surpassed expectations in several college level, AP, and IB courses. I was accepted into the UB Gifted Math Program in seventh grade where I completed several college math credits, maintained high Honor roll for every quarter of school, been accepted into National Honor Society, and I'm currently on track to be either valedictorian or salutatorian at my high school.
I hope you consider me as a potential asset for your school and women's hockey team and look forward to communicating and collaborating with prospective coaches!
