Hello,
My name is Myah Desserich. I play for the Grand junction river hawks 19U girls team. As of this year I have played hockey for 6 years, but I have been ice skating since I was 3 years old. After my first year of learning how to play hockey I started on my first travel team. I started in 2019 on a Co Ed 10U team and have never felt more excited and dedicated to a sport like I felt with hockey. In 2020 I didn’t get a season due to COVID, but still wanted to presume my career in the sport. In 2021 I was able to get back out on the ice and play once again on a Co Ed team. For my first 3 years playing I was an assistant captain, and currently with the all girls 19U team I am one of two captains on the team. When it comes to team building and being a team player I am the person to look for if someone needs help with something or even if the coaches need help setting up the drill. I am very passionate about the sport and love being out on the ice. I’m very respectful to my coaches and teammates on and off the ice. With every team there’s the players with less experience than the others but through it all I stay positive and try my best to help in any way I can. I would be honored to play and make it a full time career after high school.
