Reese Spiering '27 Recruiting Profile

My name is Reese Spiering, I am a Sophomore goaltender, class of 2027 from De Pere, WI. After discovering my love for hockey I grew a deep passion for the position of goaltending. Having played my youth hockey for the Green Bay Bobcats I was lucky enough to be in the net at the state tournament each season. The following spring seasons I was able to play spring hockey for the Green Bay Hornets. I was a Varsity Starter as a Freshman for the Bay Area Ice Bears going 9-0 in my first season where we were State Runner-Up. My passion has led me to being lucky enough to make the Wisconsin Elite Hockey League Northeast North Central team for 3 straight seasons. My first year of 14u we swept USA Hockey Central Districts and advanced to the Tier II National Championships in Irvine, CA. With WEHL I played up to 16u in 2023 and had a 20-4-1 record with a 92.8 save percentage. My spring hockey with the Sun Drop Bulldogs AAA team has been equally successful as together we have secured six tournament championships. In my Sophomore season my teammates and I won the WIAA State Championship and I was lucky enough to set a WIAA record as the only female goaltender in WIAA Girls State Tournament history to have back to back shutouts at the State Tournament. In the "Off-Season" I am very blessed to train and power skate privately with coach Jim Stanaway - Owner of Goalies Inc, and Chris Nell at CJN Performance, who was the Goalie Coach for the USHL's Green Bay Gamblers, and is now an Assistant Coach / Director of Hockey Operations for Colgate (NCAA D1). I am also extremely lucky to have the opportunity to attend almost all of Team Wisconsin Hockeys regional practices, which helps me work with my peers, build additional relationships with passionate hockey players, and helps lead by example with my WEHL teammates. I also continue my dedication to improving by attending numerous camps and private sessions through the season and offseason. My greatest assets are my work ethic, hunger for growth, my loyalty, and trust. All traits that I feel are essential to being a successful teammate and athlete when I move on to future levels of our game.
