Niya Patneaude '20 Recruiting Profile

I've been playing hockey since I was five years old. I enjoyed hockey right away; the family atmosphere, and the camaraderie shown in this sport. It drew me to want to continue my hockey career at the collegiate level. Seven years ago, my team needed a goalie. At the time I was playing right forward; I was never the one to score many goals. I was more of a team player and passed the puck whenever I could. My calling came when the coach asked me if I would consider playing goalie. I stepped into the net that night and had no doubt in my mind; I was meant to be a goalie. I have learned a lot from years of experience in the net and many goalie clinics, and I am looking forward to working hard, being part of a team, and learning even more playing college hockey.
