My name is Bridgette Knapp and am going into my 6th year of rowing at Newport Aquatic Center. I started rowing in 7th grade and immediately fell in love with the sport. Rowing is a place where I can clear my mind and become a better version of myself. I also enjoy rowing because it allows me to form connections with my teammates and enables us to build trust in one another and my team throughout the season. Over the course of my past seasons, I followed my coaches training plan with thorough commitment. This allowed me to qualify for the Youth Nationals in Sarasota, and grand final for 3 consecutive years. I also participated in the Olympic Development Program in 2022. At the 2022 Youth Nationals I competed in the U17 8+ and placed 6th overall. At the Youth Nationals in 2023 I rowed the U17 4x category and placed 4th in the grand final. This year, I competed at Youth Nationals in the 1x category and placed 7th overall.
