Cecelia Mason '23 Recruiting Profile

Hi! I am Cecelia Mason but my nickname is Cece. I am a 2023 lightweight rower for Long Beach Junior Crew in Southern California. 

Before I began rowing, I played competitive club soccer for 8 years and played on the high school team for 2 years.  At the beginning of my junior year, I decided to commit to rowing full time so I left the soccer field behind. 

I an a student at Los Alamitos High School where I like to challenge myself academically. I am a part of our schools‘ California Scholarship Federation which is based on academic achievement. I am also on the Principal’s Honor Roll and I take several Honors and AP classes. 

Outside of school, I am a member of National Charity League, a philanthropic organization. This past year, I volunteered over 200 hours and earned the Presidents Service Gold and Silver Award and the Yellow Rose Bud Award. I love to help the families and the kids I volunteer with and I hope to continue volunteering throughout college. 

I am interested in studying biology, forensic science and/or criminology in college or environmental studies. 

I have always pictured myself playing a varsity sport in college, and I am excited to be representing a school by wearing their colors on my uni. I have a feisty, positive attitude, I’m a team player, I am a dedicated student and athlete.
