For me, rowing started freshman year of high school. I fell in love with the sport instantly; rowing was an activity I had never known anything about and I am so grateful for the impact it continues to make in my life. By starting rowing, I began a new lifestyle filled with exercise and strengthening my body as my daily routine. In addition, my mindset completely transformed -- with the development of additional mental skills, I am capable of pushing myself to my limits and reaching for desired goals in all aspects of my life.
I strive to be a trustworthy teammate and an easily coachable athlete. Aside from on the water and on the erg, I push myself in school, taking rigorous classes, and I am always striving for a strong GPA. I also participle in school clubs and have volunteered for several years at the nonprofit Westside Children's Center, helping children less fortunate than me.
The perfect university for me would be a school where both academics and rowing are balanced so that I can excel and be successful in those two aspects during the next four years. I can't wait to discover the perfect college for me!!
