Personal Statement

I have always liked sports; I competitively played soccer and volleyball in elementary and middle school. Yet, I truly fell in love with crew because it challenged me like no other sport had. No matter what lineup I’m in, I enjoy focusing on what I can improve to make the boat faster.

During my four years of crew, I have rowed many types of sweeping and sculling boats, but I have a special passion for the single. I value the accountability being a single sculler requires, and the mental toughness it has fostered in me has made me a better rower.

For my senior project, I earned my USRowing Level 1 and 2 coaching certifications. I loved learning more about rowing, and I enjoy sharing my passion for crew with others!

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
