I am an aspiring division 1 college rower, wanting to major in Health Sciences. I am an extremely dedicated person and whatever I set my goal(s) as, I will not stop working hard until those goals are reached. I love going to the gym and working out either alone or with friends, and land/erg workouts are very much not a burden. It has been a life long goal of mine ever since I was a little girl to earn a college scholarship for a sport, no matter which sport that may be. For the longest time I was obsessed with lacrosse and thought that was the chosen sport for me until the summer of freshman year; the year I fell in love with rowing. Ever since, I have been determined to push myself everyday at practice and give my all. Dedication and intensity is something I have always had and I will always try and bring to the table. I persistently try to encourage and push my teammates to their max potential that I know they can achieve. I always try to teach them my motto: “There is no ‘I’ team”, we win as together and we lose together.
For my academics, I was inducted into the National Junior Honor Society in the 7th and 8th grade and I am about to be inducted into the National Honors society at my high school this year. Although athletics are very important to me, academics have and will always come first. I believe that a exceptional athlete is one who excels on the playing field but is even more exceptional in the classroom.
