I am a big believer in humble beginnings. When I joined the novice program on my team in fall of 2021, I was severely unfit and lacked the required skills to be a successful rower. However, I never lost sight of my goals. I put immense effort into both my ergs and my water time. Over the last 2 years, I've climbed my way from the slowest weight adjusted rower on the team to having the strongest ergs in the first 8. I believe that success is not made from one good erg day or the winning of a race, but pushing hard every single day. I take pride in my mental strength and ability to hold onto hard splits, and my discipline with technique on the water.
At the moment, I'm working on becoming a more well rounded rower. My biggest weakness is raw power, so I'm working on my sprinting, low rates, and max wattage.
I've got ambitious goals to break some of the previous erg records in my team's history.
I want to expand my horizons into college to prove the power of dedication and ambition.
This fall, I was most proud of our performance at Head of the Charles (9th in Women's 8+ Event) and at Head of the Hooch (won overall points trophy.) Getting in the top 10 at HOTC proved that we were able to step up and push the bar further than the level the 1v last year had set it. Winning the points trophy was a great reflection of how our team is not just select "fast" people who step up. It is a squad who bottom to top, is willing to push to their own personal best.
Some erg pieces that I'm really proud of include a 10k PR of (39:47.1 Ovr or 1:59.3 Avr) and a Half-Marathon PR of (1:30:23.5 Ovr or 2:08.5 Avr)
