Combining water and physical strength is my perfect balance. From ballet to swimming, nothing quite worked out- until I found rowing. It is easy to say that rowing has changed my life. I found a team to be my second family and an amazing coach that pushes me to limits I could have never discovered on my own. I enjoy challenges and I love solving problems. As a rower, I am challenged everyday. Whether it's on the water or on the erg, I push myself. Rowing challenges me to aim higher.
Through rowing, I have discovered the work ethic I possess. I have slowly learned how to balance my athletics and academics. When a goal is put in front of me I will give everything it takes to achieve it. That's what rowing has taught me. I will continue to use this lesson throughout my life, whether I choose law or medical school, or something completely different in college, I want to continue to use my skills. I am looking forward to applying to colleges in the fall, and hope to get in touch with as many college coaches as I can.
I have recently overcome an SI injury that caused me to be out of the boat for over 6 months. Fortunately, with a lot of physical therapy, I was able to start rowing again this summer and am training for the Fall 2016 season.
The final item I will include is my 4K time, as there is no spot for it on my profile. I broke my personal record and rowed a 17:38.4 4K. This was during my first ever fall season/my first season on varsity.
