My name is Abigail Rodriguez. I started rowing the summer before my Freshman year and it wasn't long before I fell in love. Rowing was the first sport that I had ever played seriously, and now in my junior year, I am so glad that I found it as it has changed me for the better. Through rowing, I learned how to be dedicated, relentless and selfless. I learned that your mind tries to give up so much sooner than your legs do but when you can overcome your mind, you can overcome any piece thrown at you. I learned that there are no shortcuts, that the road is often long and hard but this road would shape me into a person that wouldn't have it any other way. And finally, I learned that in rowing in a boat with 8 other girls, you are not rowing for just yourself, but for every single one of those amazing people, so that you can share your victory together.
