Hello! My name is Emily Foote.
I have begun rowing within the last year. With this said, it has not taken me long to fall in love with this sport. I continue to learn and take in critiques to become better for my team. Before I began Crew I swam competitively, was the team captain on my soccer team and ran cross country. Currently I am swimming, running cross country and rowing year round. Doing these sports has taught me how to have grit, work hard, and promote positive energy; these attributes will help me in college athletics. I love being part of a dedicated team and strive to work to my best potential with my teammates. Being a Military kid has taught me to be very adaptive to change. I have moved nine times and ready for the college move. These moves have taught me the importance of jumping into a new situation, making relationships, and getting into a new community.
In School, I am involved in a lot of different clubs and committees: NHS, FCA, S2S (school ambassador), Class committee, KAYS club, emerging leaders, and BlueJay Buddies. As a school ambassador, I give school guest tours and help new students get adjusted by showing them around and being a friendly face to go too when they need help. As a BlueJay Buddies I invest my time in special education students, by playing games, going on field trips and helping with school work. Personally I enjoy getting challenged in the classroom.
My goal is to be a student athlete rowing at a high performing collegiate level. Another goal is to contribute to the collegiate team. I would also love to see lots of personal growth. In college I planned to go to school to get a degree in speech pathology or elementary education; eventually go back and get my masters in administration. I would be beyond grateful and thrilled to receive a scholarship.
