I'm a 17 year old girl and have been rowing for 4 years/ 12 competitive seasons. I also ski and horseback ride recreationally along with rowing. I was captain sophomore year for my club team in the fall as well as my school team captain in the spring. This past summer I did USRowing's Olympic Development camp where I was able to improve my rowing and get introduced to many different coaching styles. I also learned to hop in any seat and work my hardest. The quad I raced in this fall was undefeated, winning every race. Unfortunately my team was unable to get a womens boat in Head of the Charles, but another team had an athlete out and asked me to sub in instead (they reached out to the event if this was alright as they had traveled quite far for the race). With only the warmup as practice the team was able to qualify for the next year. In college I want to continue rowing and improving my strength as an athlete, I hope to compete at high levels while also balancing hard work at school and jobs.
