Harper Mathews '25 Recruiting Profile

I started rowing the summer before 7th grade in July of 2019 and immediately fell in love. I found a purpose, a home, and a community that I can't imagine my life without it. In college, I would be able to continue with the structure that it has provided me with, as well as instantly create a group of people who understand and care about Crew just as much as I care about it. It has pushed me to develop skills that I never would have utilized otherwise. Crew has pushed me to become the best version of myself, a passionate, resourceful, and confident person. Additionally, I have been able to help people whether it be brand new Novices by inspiring them to keep going and improving or my teammates to finish the race and push hard. Crew has influenced every aspect of my life and improved it. It allowed me to motivate myself through rough times and taught me discipline in school.
