While I´ve tried many sports throughout my life, crew is definitely the one I want to do the rest of my life. I´ve always been driven to improve myself and always try to be as competitive as I can with my teammates, but also knowing that cheering on their successes is just as important. I´ve learned that competitiveness starts with myself and finding a reason to get better, whether it be to feel stronger, improve my splits, or to make my coaches proud is what will really make me go the extra mile to succeed. Even in my Freshman (novice) year I showed up at winter conditioning nearly everyday, and made sure to turn in my online erging splits turned in during our online spring season of 2020. Now I show up to conditioning early to get extra meters in before practice and improve my erging and lifting form. Especially after going to SRAA Nationals with my Women´s Youth 4 and placing 2nd last spring, and HOCR this past fall with my 4 and getting 19th in the Women´s Youth 4s, I truly realized how much this sport meant to me. The excitement in the air with so many rowers from all over the world rubbed off on me and inspired to me keep striving for my goals to continue rowing past high school.
