Hi, I’m Piper Dotseth, and I am a coxswain at Twin Cities Youth Rowing Club. I originally started off as a rower this fall and decided to transition into coxswain this spring.
I currently practice with our varsity girls, racing 3V and 2V girls. As a team we pride ourselves in our relationships with each other, and making our team our family. This is something that is very important to me when it comes to looking into college teams.
Because I am a dancer as well as a coxswain, and was formally a rower. I have a strong understanding of how to motivate my teammates, while making calls. I also take well with criticism and make sure to apply all corrections right away. My outside dance training has taught me how to be self aware and take these corrections as fuel to be better. This makes me a great coxswain recruiting candidate because of my coachable attitude, willingness to learn, and drive to motivate my team.
