Elena Metzger '27 Recruiting Profile

Hi Coaches! My name is Elena Metzger, an open-weight rower for Lake Phalen Rowing MN. I've had experience with both scull and sweeping, but primarily race scull due to the smaller size of my club. From the start, I learned to love anything in the realm of athletics, trying various sports ranging from soccer, to gymnastics, to volleyball, etc. Rowing, however, has managed to capture my interest and is now what I wish to pursue at the collegiate level. In addition to athletics, the academic aspects of my life are a huge priority. I have a 4.0 unweighted GPA as of my sophomore year, and I am taking nearly all the AP classes offered to me. My primary interest is in the stem field, particularly biology and anatomical studies. As for extracurriculars, writing, art, and guitar are my general occupations. I would love to maintain a healthy balance of my athletics, academics, and art when I eventually transition to the college setting. It is my drive and enjoyment that allows me to push myself further during practice, in school, and in my arts, and, I doubt my passion for these all will not subside during my time in college.
