What I'm looking from my future college experience is a rowing club or team that is tightly knit, because a close team relationship is something I sincerely value, and offers me a chance to further cultivate my rowing aspirations. I'm interested in Pre-Law and Environmental Studies. I have no preference on school size as I plan on giving collegiate rowing majority of my time, when I'm not studying. The thing that makes me different from other recruits is that although I may not have the fasted 2k time I'm extremely dedicated to my sport. Everyday I come to practice extremely happy, euphoric as I like to call it, to just simply be able to row, on the ergs or on the water. I know this feeling of satisfaction that rowing gives me will only strengthen when collegiate rowing becomes a major part of my life. Recently my team experienced some tension between my coaches and a few of my teammates. About every two weeks we would show up to practice knowing we were scheduled to have a 2k. The feeling of a 2k looming around the corner did not sit right with one of my teammates, she began to complain constantly, even to my coach. She inevitably threatened to quit. After her outburst I took her aside and reminded her all the reasons why crew is the most amazing sport and that if she truly loves it she has no choice but trust her coaches, since they only have her success and well being in mind. After I consoled her she apologized to my coach and thanked me for reasoning with her. That is why I think I would be a good addition to your team, because I'm a leader and am unafraid to try my hardest to motivate others.
