My name is Mia Sorrentino, and I am currently a junior at St. Anthonys High School. I am a dedicated and driven individual who excels both academically and athletically. With a strong work ethic, leadership skills, and an insatiable curiosity, I believe I would be a valuable addition to your program. As a first-season rower, I have developed a deep passion for the sport and take great pride in both my personal progress and my ability to support my teammates. I am committed to continuous improvement, always striving to refine my technique and lower my split times.
In terms of performance, I have made significant strides in my training. Another high intensity workout was a 1 minute on 1 off, 1.30 on 1 off 2 on 1.30 off and each of those were done 3 times for a total of 9 and I did this for 2 sets with an average of 2.02.4. Another workout I completed was a 3 x 7 with an average of 2.03.1 it is on for 45 seconds 15 seconds paddling with a 7 minute rest between each piece. In a 6x5-minute session with a stroke rate of 28, I maintained an average split of 2:09.5 improving with each round. Additionally, in a 2x30-minute workout with 20-second sprints every five minutes, I achieved times of 2:22.5 and 2:21.1.
I am highly motivated to continue pushing my limits and refining my abilities, with the ultimate goal of breaking the 8-minute mark on my 2K. With continued training and perseverance, I am confident in my ability to reach new milestones and contribute meaningfully to my team.
At my first indoor regatta, I demonstrated my ability to compete at a high level by securing second place. This achievement was a testament to the progress I have made in such a short period of time and reinforced my confidence in my potential as a rower. The experience pushed me to embrace the competitive side of the sport, testing both my physical endurance and mental toughness. It also motivated me to set even higher goals for myself as I continue to refine my technique and build my strength.
Beyond this milestone, I remain committed to pushing my limits and improving my performance. Every workout is an opportunity to get stronger, more efficient, and more strategic in my approach. I analyze my splits, adjust my form, and seek ways to maximize my output with each stroke. With continued dedication and training, I am confident that I will not only surpass my current personal bests but also establish myself as a highly competitive athlete in the sport.
