Personal Statement

Hi, my name is Emma Seidner, and I would love to row in college. When I first began rowing, I was determined to succeed, as I am surrounded by successful rowers in my family and on my team. I have set concrete goals for myself since my first 2k, and to my surprise, I have accomplished them sooner than I could ever imagine. Rowing is a sport that requires passion, strategy, and dedication, and I encompass all three. As a hard-working student, I am looking to attend a school that excels both academically and athletically.

Awards and Activities

ActivitiesI am the President of PPAC, a club that raises awareness and funds for feminine hygiene products for young women in need. I also serve as the Co-President of Hope Jr., a committee that provides services and shelter for victims of domestic violence. Additionally, I am involved with Gold Hearts, which supports children with cancer in Peru. I volunteer with Horse Ability, a horseback riding program for children with disabilities, and Dog Rescue, which helps sheltered dogs find families. At my school, I am a member of several committees, including the Stock and Finance Club, Model UN, The New F Word (a feminist movement), Me Time (a mental health awareness committee), and the Breast Cancer Awareness Committee. I have played piano since age five, and also enjoy both painting and reading in my free time.
