I rowed with my high school team for 4 years, before making the switch over to a club team. What started as a "Learn to row" summer program just for fun, quickly turned into a love of the sport and a desire to get better. I knew from the initial feeling and the rush of my blade on the water that very first time, that I wanted to row at a collegiate level in the future. Being able to row in college would be an amazing experience and would no doubt alter my entire experience there. I am willing to put in the hard work and dedication to achieve that experience. Ever since I joined my school's rowing team, I have been constantly pushing myself, both physically and mentally. Attempting to beat personal records with faster erg splits has become more of a passion than a simple goal. I am naturally very competitive and I strive to be the best, whether that means having the fastest 2k or the best technique. Throughout my high school years, I have fought to earn my spots in the best boats, and with the help of my teammates and coaches, I have had numerous successes at many different regattas. I strive to be one of the hardest working athletes and I am one of the hardest working recruits you'll find.
I push myself year round on improving my rowing technique and strength through conditioning in the winter and constant water practice in the spring and fall. In the last several years, I have participated in many big regattas, such as the Head of the Charles and Youth Nationals, which have all contribute to my athleticism.
In the classroom, I study hard and work to maintain good grades. Additionally, I do a lot of volunteer work at my Church, other small organizations such as The Breast Cancer Coalition and Autism Awareness, and am always looking for opportunities to support my community and others. When I am not on the water, I am also contributing to the efforts of various clubs in my school. I want to attend a college where I am able push myself both in the classroom and on the water. I am open to all options and want to ultimately find the right match at the highest level of competition possible. I aspire to become a great role model to all my peers and teammates while encouraging others around me in the process.
