Mara McBride '23 Recruiting Profile

My name is Mara McBride I am a member of the Class of 2023 at Fayetteville Manlius High School. I began rowing in December of 2021 for Fayetteville Manlius High School this summer I have been rowing for The Syracuse Chargers. Although I only have a year of experience my athletic career began long before that. At five years old I started dancing and now I take Ballet, Modern, Pointe, Jazz, Flamenco and Choreography Composition Classes at my dance studio. In 7th grade I began playing football for my schools modified team where I play offensive and defensive line. I am entering my senior season for football this fall on the varsity team. In my rowing career I have rowed for Fayetteville Manlius High School as well as The Syracuse Chargers. On top of my athletics I play the violin and I'm a girl scout. I am apart of several clubs at my school including, Science Honors Society, Tri-M Music Honors Society, Broadcast Journalism Club, S.A.F.E Club (Suicide Awareness for Everyone), The Positivity Project, National History Day and Student Council. In the classroom I challenge myself with several academically challenging courses. Including; AP Chemistry, AP US History and Government and AP Comparative Government and Politics. Next Year I plan on taking, AP Biology, SUPA (Syracuse University Project Advanced) Language and Composition, SUPA Statistics and SUPA Economics and Policy Studies.
