I knew that I could be a successful collegiate coxswain when I was training for youth nationals. My boat decided that in order to reach our full potential we needed to take advantage of the calmer waters in the morning. I thrive on challenges like this. Practicing every morning before school taught me that I have to make sacrifices to further the success of my boat. Out of seven female coxswains, I was chosen to represent my team in one of the most competitive high school rowing events.
I was chosen because of my dedication, leadership, and communication skills. I want to use rowing as an avenue to graduate from a school with high academics that is a good fit for me. I would love to contribute my abilities to enhance your school; athletically and academically.
