Shyashia Owens '25 Recruiting Profile

My name is Shyashia, I go by Shy, and I am a 17 year old student athlete from Syracuse, NY. I am a junior at Corcoran high school. This is my second rowing season and my goal is to work towards a Division I rowing scholarship. I’m excited to put in the necessary work to get there. I haven’t had the opportunities to travel a lot so I am open to going out of state for the right program. Outside of school and rowing I also cheer for my high school. I am currently on a career path to become a welder and the only female welder in my school. I am undecided on an academic program but I love hands on learning experiences.
