Hi, my name is Maddie Baird. I am a 2nd year varsity rower and a junior in high school. I made the decision in summer of 2022 to switch high schools from Our Lady of Mercy to Webster Schroeder so that I would be able to switch high school rowing teams to a more competitive program that fit my liking, such as Pittsford Crew. I am a hard working, dedicated athlete who is looking for a team that can not only bring the competitive aspect, but also a welcoming and encouraging environment. Teamwork means more to me than anything, so i’m really searching for a team that can provide both ends of the spectrum. I say this because at the end of the day, no matter how fast one is, encouragement and support from your teammates (as well as yourself and coaches) will be most important in the long run.
