Personal Statement

Hi Coach:

Thank you for visiting my NCSA profile, With the school year over and all the regattas completed, my sophomore year has come to a close.  Soon off to the summer crew season at the Fairmount Boat Club and actually a summer of all three sports (Crew, Water Polo and Swimming), plus a copious amount of preparation for my junior year.  I was happy to sit in four different seats this spring season, Bow in the 8+ twice, Stroke in the Double once , 3rd seat in the Quad once, and 2nd stroke in the 8+ three times.  We competed in the five Manny Flicks, the Stotesbury Cup and day one of the SRAA National Champs.  It was a fun season, with a lot of growth in knowledge and skill. I was happily challenged, surprisingly so by switching from sweep to scull then back to sweep again.  Remembering the adage that it takes 1000 repetitions to change a habit, it usually took an entire practice to make the transition, I was thoroughly hand tied during the transition. It was crazy and quite fun.

I hope your season went well and that your teams are cohesive. I look forward to meeting them. Until then, I added a video compilation of the Manny Flick series of races.  I am looking to find a home where International Business or Finance and International Relations can be combined.  Spending my elementary years at the French International School of Philadelphia, I plan on using this talent by enhancing it college and using it in my professional future. What you will get is a dedicated athlete, an empathetic leader and driven scholar-athlete.  I look forward to meeting you.

Best regards,

Siena Scungio, Episcopal Academy 2027

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
