I look forward to pursuing a career in the FBI, particularly in human resources, data analysis, and/or behavioral sciences. I am fascinated by all things people: psychiatry, education, therapy, and victim care are only a few of the many fields that interest me. In anything I do, my biggest goal is to be able to help the people around me. I volunteer through National Honor Society and at my church, and this past summer I had the opportunity to teach new rowers in my team's Learn To Row programs. I love to work with children and younger teenagers, whether tutoring, babysitting, coaching, or just hanging out. I am enrolled in a dual-credit program because I wanted a more challenging academic environment, and I maintain As and high Bs in my high school and college courses. I hope to be a coxswain in college: because I have a background as a rower, and because I can easily adapt to different styles, I would be able to facilitate excellence in and out of the boat.
Within my team, I am known for being encouraging and for caring about each of my teammates individually; during erg tests, I often "cox" for 2-4 teammates, remembering and adapting to the motivational style that each of them needs. Others count on me for a morale boost or advice whenever they're feeling uncertain- I even wrote messages on my back to encourage my boatmate during her first race recently. I have been rowing for over a year and a half under four different head coaches, which has given me the opportunity to receive diverse feedback and refine my technique as much as possible. My technique and attitude make me a valuable asset, and I am excited to be a member of a positive and process-driven team.
