Soccer has been a part of my life since I can remember. I first started playing with my church’s Upwards program as a kid. From those first few years on that team, I learned the importance of team work and encouragement. Through that program I was able to learn that I couldn’t do everything on my own and I needed my teammates as much as they needed me. I also learned that even if someone wasn’t having their best game, encouragement meant everything in determining how they would play for the remainder of time. These particular lessons have stuck with me throughout my highschool ball years and have shaped me into the person I am on and off the field. In being the graduating class of 2022, I am nearing the end of my highschool experience. To me, this means taking every moment of my senior year in advantage. I am a very determined person, so more than ever this coming year I will be striving to push myself harder both academically and athletically. I take pride in my effort and grades and that in turn has given me the advantage to take dual enrollment courses. In taking these courses at my local community college, I have shaved a year off my college experience in basics. Throughout my years of playing school ball I have learned that being able to take constructive criticism and being coachable is everything if you want to get somewhere. These are things that I strive to exemplify on the field. It is a dream of mine to continue my soccer experience going into college. I am looking to major in Interior Design and I feel that continuing something that has stuck with me for so many years will round out my college experience. I hope that I am given the opportunity to attend a school that fits me academically and athletically. I would love for nothing more than to demonstrate who I am as a person and a teammate and I am grateful for any opportunity that comes my way.
