Amya Mckenzie '25 Recruiting Profile

Hi my name is Amya Mckenzie and I have been playing soccer for the last seven years. When I started playing soccer I was playing defense to say I love that position is an understatement. That was until sophomore year I wanted to step up and play goalkeeper. At tryouts I was just playing around and having fun, but I actually grew to love that position and I have been playing it ever since. Becoming goalkeeper has shown me a lot of responsibility because when I became goalkeeper I also became the second captain in my team. When I became captain that gave me the responsibility to lead and be a leader on the and off of the field. Being goalkeeper gave me a bigger perspective on the field and off.
