Personal Statement
My name is Caitlyn, but I go by KC. I live in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and I have been playing soccer since I was 7 years old. I started club soccer at age 10 (U12) and during that time I was a part time goalkeeper on my team. By the time I turned 12 (U14) I loved the position so much that I decided to become a dedicated full time keeper and haven't looked back. I've played with club for five years and was fortunate enough to win silver and gold in back to back Alberta Provincial Championships with my U14 team. I am currently in grade 10 and in the senior soccer academy at Archbishop O'Leary high school. I train with Goalking Goalkeeper Academy weekly and have also been training with the FC Edmonton girls REX program four days a week for five months. Combined, I train six days a week, and it is sometimes difficult to balance soccer and schoolwork, but I am committed to success. I really enjoy being challenged, trying new things, and learning different techniques that will help me grow and constantly improve. My coaches think of me as being easily coach-able, a quick learner and I process and apply new skills and concepts quickly. I am reliable, committed, and very hard working. I take my goal-tending very seriously and love the adrenaline rush I get after every save. It is my passion. I want to play at the collegiate level, even for my national team, while getting a high quality education.
