Personal Statement

Hard work and dedication are what make a team a team. I would be a good candidate for your team because I am a hard worker, am dedicated, and will always give my all. I enjoy the challenge because if everything came easy, then the work required to complete the difficult tasks would never be accomplished.

Most people now adays are skilled, but most won't do the work required to be better than what they are. I am one of the few that will work hard in every aspect. I do everything to the best of my ability in school, work, and soccer. In sports, I often have to do more than the requirement because I am a captain. I don't always want to do that last sprint with the last person, but I do it anyways. I know that in doing this, I get better, but I am also encouraging my team to do the best they can. I have learned this important piece of information from past players. I have always loved playing up as many years as possible. In doing so, they have taught me so much more than anyone from my own age group could. During soccer camps I would always be the one to move up to the oldest age group even though I was up to 5 years younger. Within three days of the camp, they began to welcome me after I showed what I was capable of. I wouldn't cut the corners or back down because of their height, size, or skill. I always worked hard so that I could compete with their level.

I work hard because I am dedicated to my coach and teammates. I know that everything I do affects them. I need to be the best I can be regardless of how difficult it is because in a team sport, you can't look after just yourself. Whether you are a captain or not, you are responsible for your teammates on and off the field. I need to be dedicated to working hard on and off the field so that on the field I can have my teammates back. Without dedication, hard work is impossible because dedication to something is what allows hard work to take place. Dedication is extremely important to me because it is what makes me a good student and a good athlete. I am dedicated to good grades and the hard work and time management it takes to upkeep them so that I will have time for sports and free time. In doing this, it shows my dedication, hard work, and what is important to me.

Dedication, hard work, and giving my all in everything are most important to me. These are the things that separate me from the rest of the group and show why I would be a good candidate for your team.
