Mikaela Carlson '23 Recruiting Profile

I am absolutely passionate about soccer. I love to compete and play at a high level.  I play multiple positions on both my club and high school team making me an extremely versatile player.  I have a long throw that helps my teammates create good scoring opportunities. I am an excellent 1 v1 defender. While on the pitch, I am quick on the transition to attack, have great field vision and work hard to win the balls out of the air.   As a freshman, I made my varsity high school team, and we won the large schools 6A state championship. The following year as a starting sophomore, I helped lead my team  to the state championship game again. I work hard to be the best possible teammate, and always strive to give 100 percent effort to not only benefit myself, but also  help my team grow. I have had to overcome challenges and realized at a young age that nothing in life comes easy. I put everything I have into everything I do with a fighting mentality. Even when things do not go as planned,  I remain positive and work even harder to overcome the obstacle in my path to success. I firmly believe that with this attitude I can be a positive contribution to my peers at school and on the field.   I currently am  a starter for varsity soccer at Chaparral High School in Scottsdale, Arizona, as well as a starter for Arizona Arsenal on the 03/04 ECNl team as a 2005.  I have a 4.3 GPA taking multiple AP and honors classes. My goal is to play soccer at the collegiate level and become an asset to their program. I also was on the region first team and all conference 6A second team for the 2021-2022 season.
