I have been playing soccer since I was 5 years old. I was also in competitive gymnastics for a majority of that time. I competed in both sports until time became a limiting factor and I chose to solely focus on soccer. I am thankful for the lessons I learned in gymnastics such as discipline, hard work and perseverance. I believe this has helped me in many areas of life both on and off the field.
As a soccer player I have developed strong technical skills and am a physical and aggressive defender. I have become a leader on my teams and I am a captain for my club soccer team. I am naturally fast and agile on my feet and this has allowed me to be successful in multiple positions on the field. I have traditionally played center or outside back, but in the last 2 years have also been playing forward or winger. I play wherever I am needed by my team at the time.
I have been on varsity soccer and track since my Freshman year. I received an award in Track as outstanding female freshman and went to compete at state on both relay teams. As a sophomore I qualified for state in 4 events and I was a state finalist in the 400 meter race. On my soccer team as a sophomore I was named 2nd Team All Region.
In high school I maintain a high GPA overall and push myself with honors and dual enrollment classes. I also volunteer at several community organizations and at my church. I pet sit on the side when time permits.
I want to attend college where I can continue to learn and grow and also be part of a team. I hope to be a role model for my peers and make my parents proud.
