My name is Remi Edwards and I am 16 years old! I have played soccer for eight years and I am currently playing for the Scottsdale Blackhawks 96' Black Team and my High School Varsity Team. I attend Phoenix Country Day School and I have worked hard both athletically and academically to get to where I am at today!
High School Varsity Soccer: First, athletically, I have attended PCDS since 2011 as a freshman. I have been a starter on my school's Women's Varsity Soccer team since the start of freshman year and I continue to do the same up until this day. Not only do I start but I also play the entire 90 minutes! During my Sophomore year, I was chosen by coaches around the state as an All- Section Second Team Player. However, I am not done there! I aspire to go further than that and I hope to be selected as an All-Division and/or an All-State player throughout my high school career. In both my freshman and sophomore year, I have led the team in assists and I have been the second leading scorer. I will strive to continue to do so throughout the rest of my high school experience!
Academic life: Next, my academic life! Phoenix Country Day School is the most challenging academic school in Arizona. Although it is a very difficult school academically, I continue to maintain A level grades even with a rigorous soccer schedule. I also love my school for other reasons not academic or athletic. I am a part of several clubs at my school including Green Team (a club to help with the preservation of the environment), Disney Club, and I am also a President of Soccer Club!
Club Soccer: I have played for Blackhawks for 5 years and I am going on my sixth! Although I have not been on the elite team since the beginning, I am one of the few players to continually progress through all three levels (white (beginning), red (intermediate), and black (elite)). I believe this shows my tenacity to continue working hard in order to achieve my goals! I am now currently on the elite (black) team for the second year and I am still working hard to achieve my next level; which is college soccer! All of the soccer teams I have been on have won several tournaments as well as have gone pretty far in state tournaments. On my club team I am also a leader in assists and again I continue to work to do so!
Training : I am constantly training in my school weight room in order to continue to improve and get stronger! I also train at Athletes Performance, an elite training gym, as well I have have been an athletic model for Athletes Performance and SKLZ. I enjoy training as I see it as a way of bettering myself!
Community service/ Volunteer work: Also, outside of both my busy athletic and academic life, I enjoy volunteering at local animal shelters and estate sales. I love working with animals, especially dogs, and I aspire to educate people on a better understanding of animals!
This Summer: This summer I will be working at my schools' summer camp as a councellor and I will also be working in Portland, Oregon as a camp councellor for a soccer camp. I will also be attending college ID camps as well! And of course, my family's annual trip to Disney Land!!
