Personal Statement

Playing at the collegiate level has been one of the biggest goals I have set for myself thus far in my career. I've always had a passion and drive for soccer that I am committed to. I am devoted to developing to become the best athlete possible. I am self motivated and always work my hardest to achieve my goals and aspirations for the future.

A few ways that makes me a worthy candidate for this level of sport because I always work hard and listen to what my coaches tell me. I like to take in information from them and apply it to what I do on and off the field to help further my development. I am also a team player that cares not only for myself and my development, but also for the development of my peers, and how I can push myself and my teammates at the same time. I am someone who strives to have the best connections and relationships possible with my teammates therefore we can perform to the best of our abilities on the field. Building these strong and unbreakable connections and trust is something that I believe every successful team needs to accomplish. It is something I truly value in a player and teammate.

Another aspect of post secondary is of course the academic piece.  My schooling is something that I've worked hard at my whole life and I take it quite seriously. I have made school a mandatory priority so that I can continue to obtain and uphold my academics. I also am very invested in my schooling because I believe that a good education is something that can take you very far in life to help build a successful future for yourself. I am motivated to obtain good grades not just to make others happy but to please myself and have a good education and career.

  • I was selected as one of the top 18 players for my age group (2002) to represent the BC provinival team at the annual residential provincial camp. During our time here, the team stayed at Fortius Sport and Health for the week, training 2x a day as well as having pre/post training meetings. We also had the opportunities to attend presentations/seminars, lead by the Whitecaps REX Program and other BC Soccer representatives. To end our week off, we had a match against the BCSPL U16 CMFSC girls team.

  • I was one of the 14 girls chosen (out of 160) to compete at the 2014 BC Summer Games, representing Zone 3 Fraser Valley. Before the games, we trained as a team 3x a week to prepare for the competition. During our four days in Nanaimo, we stayed together as a team in a local school not far from the field. In round robin play, we were 3-0 with no goals against. The next day during the semi finals, we lost in a penalty shootout, with a final score of 2-1. In our final game/bronze medal match, the score after regulation was 0-0 and we went to PK's once again. By the end of the shootout, we had won, 1-0 and I made the winning stop. Fraser Valley Zone 3 Bronze medal champions.
