Jaya Punia '22 Recruiting Profile

I play attacking-midfield/striker for RUSC 2004 Girls in the BC Soccer Metro League. I am an aggressive midfielder  with strong passing abilities and a knack to finish. As captain of my team, I lead by example both on and off the field. I'm a hard-working athlete who strives to keep improving as a player. I tend to elevate my game the more pressure the situation.  

I have been a starter on my 6-time provincial qualifying high school's senior girls soccer team since grade nine. I enjoy the opportunity to learn from my different high school coaches. I also enjoy playing on my high school team because it is a chance to play with girls from different teams with different skill levels. Last season, I scored seven goals in regular season and one goal in the provincial tournament where we won the bronze medal. This was the most successful soccer season the school has even had.

I strive to keep my grades a priority as I am currently at a 4.0 GPA. I am an honour roll student and a member of my school's basketball, volleyball, and soccer team. I've also been playing competitive volleyball with Air Attack Volleyball Club as a power and setter since 2017.

I want to continue my passion for sports and medicine into my post-secondary education. I hope to enroll in sciences with hopes of going into dentistry afterwards while playing soccer for the school’s team.
