I enjoy playing soccer because I am always improving. I like the tactical and mental challenge of the game. I am currently training in my home town of Arcata with Paul Karver (the Humboldt State University Women's Coach). I am a recently rostered player and am getting league game time playing for the Santa Rosa United ECNL 01 team, coached by Trisha Ziemer. I am also attending I.D. camps, showcase tournaments, college soccer camps, and guest playing whenever there is an opportunity, as I am pursuing a future as a college soccer athlete. From age 11 to 15, I played for AC Samoa, a small soccer club in my rural area. Our limited numbers made it challenging to keep a team together, so I played up, on the U19 team once I was 14. I played outside defense or midfield on this team. We had a good national ranking, but recently most of the girls aged out of the program. I am one of three or four 15-17 year old players left without a local club team. Our team's struggles to have enough players, and constant process of welcoming new players helped me to become a good leader. Next, I played for a Santa Rosa Alliance club team, and was moved between forward and outside midfield. I scored two goals for a tournament win in our final game of the season. On my varsity high school team, I played center back against stronger opponents, because that's where my coach felt he needed me. However, I also spent significant time in outside and center midfield. We won our league both my freshman and sophomore year, and my sophomore season I was chosen for All County. Moving from team to team and playing and learning almost every position, has made me a very versatile player. Since middle school I have had a minimum of a 4.0 GPA, and I am now taking AP and Honors classes and have a 4.5 GPA. I am ranked 11th in my class out of 225. My parents support has helped me to be organized, not procrastinate, and learn how to manage my time well, while being a dual sport student athlete. I have been on a club swim team since I was five, and the varsity high school swim team freshman, sophomore, and junior year. Although, I always prioritize soccer as my main sport. I have also competed in many triathlons and won two in the U18 division when I was under 14. I am very committed to keeping up my fitness. I am currently a Junior and am a part of school clubs and volunteer organizations like: Interact, Spanish Honors Society, Leadership, Sources of Strength, and I recently helped begin a new club, the Humboldt Surfrider's foundation. I feel that I have a strong work ethic that will help me throughout life. As of now, I am not sure exactly what I want to do for work. At this time, I plan to get a degree in business because it is broad and will keep my options open.
