Melissa Tatar '26 Recruiting Profile

I started playing soccer shortly after I could walk!  I was inspired by my grandfather, who played soccer professionally, and continues to share his love for the game with me. From my first soccer tots class until now, I am still very passionate about it. I have been playing at the top competitive level for ten years, I play for San Diego Surf ECNL and my graduation year is 2026. I give my all at each training and game in order to accomplish my goals as an elite player. I am a creative player with great passing abilities and a high level of tactical intelligence.  I specialize in playing central midfield because I have a good vision of the field.  I can also play the 7 or 11, where I can use my creativity to win 1v1s. I have had the amazing opportunity to travel to both Argentina and Portugal, where I trained with coaches from champion teams such as Boca Juniors and San Lorenzo.  These experiences have broadened my knowledge of soccer and futsal, and also enhanced my skills.  Off the field, I have a 4.3 GPA and give back to my community. I have received both the president's award and a principal's award for academic excellence. I will continue to train hard in order to attain my goals and become a division 1 collegiate soccer player.
