Hi, my name is Monique Naranjo, I am a junior at Compton High School. I play for the Compton Varsity Girls Soccer Team. I am a player that wants to pursue my dream of playing in college. I love to play soccer and use teamwork, I play center mid, right midfielder, and center forward. I am good for the team because I don’t give up and I keep trying. In every game I give it my all like if it’s my last game. As I am getting closer to my senior year I want to get noticed by colleges/universities and be able to play soccer in college/university. I am currently captain of the Varsity Girls Soccer Team, and I try to be the best leader. Over the years I have practiced harder and harder, everyday, every week and so on. I have tried to play many different sports but soccer has always been my passion. Soccer makes almost anything better for me, it’s such a mood changer. As for my academics I try to keep my grades as high as I can especially because since I am playing sports my gpa has to be higher than a 3.0, though there are times where I have to leave school early I make sure that I do get all my work necessary for my classes. I enjoy to play soccer with my teammates, and if I am on the team I will show that I am good enough and that I have a positive attitude. I come from a family that loves soccer, my grandfather was a coach and has always showed me his ways. As for in class, I am very respectful, understanding, and patient with others. I try to help others as much as I can. I have been in many curricular activities. I participated in ROTC which helped me travel more around and also get to discover many different places, and different people. I am willingly able to play any other position sometimes I do play right back, I am not picky, I try to give it my best soccer will always be one of my main passions.
